Outdoor Learning

We believe some of the most valuable learning happens outdoors. Our outdoor environment is an extension of our classrooms, providing children with endless opportunities to explore, investigate and connect with the natural world.

Children enjoy daily access to outdoor play in all seasons, developing confidence, resilience and a love of nature through meaningful experiences.

Whether climbing, balancing, digging, planting, painting outdoors, building dens, exploring natural materials, riding bikes or searching for mini beasts, every experience supports children’s physical development, communication, creativity and problem-solving skills.

We encourage children to take safe risks, challenge themselves and develop independence while learning to care for the world around them.

Outdoor learning also provides opportunities for quiet reflection, imaginative play and collaboration with friends, helping children build confidence, resilience and strong social skills.

At Linwood Day Nursery, fresh air, muddy puddles, changing seasons and nature’s treasures are all part of everyday learning.
